Great Clubs for Average Golfers

Plan your Position Shot

Now that you know where you want to be for the Approach Shot

decide if you can get there from the tee.

Do the Math...

Let's say your Strike Zone is from 110 (#9 iron) to 70 (SW) yards.

and the hole is a 360 yard Par 4, no wind or hazards...

You'll need a drive of 250 to 290 yards.

If you can hit the fairway from 250,

your Tee shot is your position shot.

Go for it.

If you can't, you'll need a Position Shot.

Consider the terrain and decide...

where's the best place to Position the ball

for the best shot to the Approach Point?

On longer Par 4s and Par 5s

you might need more than one Position Shot.

Now you can plan your Tee Shot.
